Detailed Narrative Description of Project:
Computer is not new in Bangladesh. The first “2nd generation” Computer was installed in 1964 at Dhaka and since than it is quite a long time but we are still not IT nation. Computer Technology tremendously improved and changed the human life style and captured almost all walks of life,. Word processing, Database, Scientific drawing & design, Remote sensing, GIS, Satellite Communication, E-mail, Internet, Expert System, Artificial Intelligence, On line business, Video conference etc., almost everyday day simple to complex steps we see use of Computer. Now computer has brought the time as age of information, age of computer. Modern communication technology & business totally based on computer. Knowledge-based resources dominate today’s economy. To survive and compete with the most competitive knowledge-based economies we have to achieve modern technology, build up manpower equipped with the skills necessary to develop, apply and work with new technology. In particular, the introduction of information and communication technologies (ICTs) has rapidly changed production and management processes and thus has many consequences for the workers. Hence, the main objective of this study is to highlight ICT status in Bangladesh, ICT job trends and prospects for the preservation and supply of highly-skilled professionals in the short and longer term and globalization of IT sectors.
